Six artists have been recruited to CoDi Opera – a development pathway for composers. Guiding them through the process will be: composer Robert Fokkens and writer/dramaturg Sophie Rashbrook, supported by soprano/composer Sarah Dacey. Through a series of workshops, composers will be given the tools to work confidently with text and narrative – moving from scenario, through libretto to writing for voice.

Bethan is working on a standalone aria for soprano and piano that plays with different understandings of a found text. Presumed to be a letter by the young woman who stumbles across it, the text seems to be about the reader. But is it?
